Senior Housing is defined at this property as the head of household member must be 62 years or older at application time. All other household members must be 45 at the time of move in.


Rent

  • Rent for Section 8 housing will not exceed 30% of applicant’s income

  • Rent for Tax Credit (LIHTC) will not exceed $1,090 for Studios or $1,168 for 1 Bedrooms

  • Deposit is equal to one month’s rent

Preferences

  • 62+ Senior Building. Friendship Senior Housing is a 62+ senior community. The head of household MUST be 62 years of age or older.

  • A Veteran and active members of the military preference (1 point). A Veteran is person who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released from such service under conditions other than dishonorable.

  • A Residency preference (1 point). Applicants who live or work at the time of application interview and/or applicants that have lived or worked in Oakland at the time of submitting their initial application and can verify their previous residency/employment at the applicant interview.

  • A Homeless preference (1 point). A preference for applicants that are homeless at admission based on the McKinney Vento Act definition.
